Goodwill Offering Adult Re-Entry Mentoring Opportunities! - Friday, February 1, 2013

Goodwill Industries of North Louisiana is proud to offer Caddo Correctional Center inmates the Adult Reentry Mentoring Initiative Program (ARMI).  This program matches volunteer mentors with soon-to-be-released offenders to provide support and encouragement for a successful future!


Why Mentor an Ex-offender?


Each year Louisiana returns 15,000 adult ex-offenders to our communities. These men need positive role models in their lives to break the cycle of returning to prison as well as to protect our community!


You can make a difference in the lives of these men!


Mentor/Lifecoach Eligibility:


             21 years of age or older

             No criminal record of violence or sex offenses and if an  ex-offender, all conditions must be completed five years prior to application for mentorship.



             Must attend one hour of orientation

             Must attend five hours of initial training and then additional quarterly training

             Must be willing to undergo extensive multi-state criminal background, sex offender and reference checks.

             Must agree to meet with Partner (mentee) six hours per month for a period of six months, beginning within 90 days before their release from Caddo Correctional Center.


Mentee/Partner Eligibility:


             18 35 years of age

             Charge is non-violent or non-sexual

             Currently housed at Caddo Correctional Center

             Planning to reside in Shreveport or Bossier City
